Venue
COTS 2027 takes place on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Session rooms, the poster venue, and the dinner location will be listed here once they are confirmed.
Getting to campus
Dallas is served by two airports. Dallas Love Field is closer to campus, and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport offers more flights. The DART Red and Blue lines stop at Mockingbird Station, a short walk from the north side of campus.
Parking
Visitor parking is available in campus garages near the meeting venue. Directions and a parking pass, if one is needed, will be sent to registered participants before the conference.
Hotels
Several hotels near campus offer a discounted SMU visitor rate. SMU keeps a current list on its where to stay page, and many of those hotels ask you to mention the SMU rate or enter a rate code when booking.

Things to do
- Meadows Museum, on campus, holds one of the largest collections of Spanish art outside Spain.
- George W. Bush Presidential Center, also on campus, with a museum and public gardens.
- Snider Plaza and Mockingbird Station, both walkable from campus, for coffee and casual meals.
- Katy Trail, a converted rail line for running or walking, with its north end near campus.
- NorthPark Center, ten minutes away, known for its sculpture collection as much as its shops.
- Dallas Arts District downtown, home to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center.
- Deep Ellum and the Bishop Arts District, for live music, murals and restaurants in the evening.
